International relations of Zlín Region

The Zlín Region’s international relations focus on activities complying with the national policy and are meant to attain the following objectives in particular: 
The development of co-operation with Slovak partner regions 
The development of co-operation with regions of states lying east of the Czech border, EU candidate countries as well as partner regions of EU member states 
Increasing the competitiveness of the Zlín Region throughout the European Union, supporting the region’s representation in Brussels – the realization of activities with direct links to the EU, the co-operation with EU countries

Partner regions in foreign countries
In 2006 the Zlín Region co-operated with eight partner regions on the basis of bilateral co-operation agreements or declarations.

Shandong Province (China)

In 2006 the Zlín Region sought to conclude mutual agreements about future relations with:

Bacău Region (Romania), www.primariabacau.ro
